Tips for Filming Your Own Video

1. Click here for Margaret’s example video.

2. Horizontal not vertical! If you’re filming on a phone or tablet, make sure to film horizontally (so when you look at your phone, it is long side to side, not tall up and down).

3. It’s all about the script! Keep your video to 1 minute! It will take some time to create a short and meaningful story. Spend a little more time on the writing and it will help your filming be more successful.

4. Practice, practice, practice. Practice a few times without recording. Then record yourself and watch it. Scary, I know! Practice connect/disconnect with yourself and then try again.

5. You’re great! Whatever you are able to film for this will be great. We are creating a quilt of many voices. Yours is important alone and important in the group. You got this!
