Jake Trusheim (he/him) is an educator who enjoys supporting others as they step outside their comfort zones and try new experiences.

With a background in wildlife biology, Spanish, and environmental education, Jake brings a unique blend of curiosity, global perspective, and calm presence to every program.

Whether hiking a trail or leading a group conversation, Jake helps people slow down, look closer, and connect—inside and out.

Q. What would you do on a YES day?

I would connect with friends, read a book, and sleep outside immersed in nature.

Q. What is the scariest thing you’ve ever done?

I got caught in a thunderstorm above a tree line in the Sierra Nevada and temporarily lost my vision and hearing due to a lightning strike.

Q. What did you study in school?

Wildlife Conservation Biology and Spanish.

Q. What are you known for at GutMonkey?

One of the first lead facilitators in GutMonkey’s cohort and the go-to for Spanish-speaking programs.

Q. Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

“All advice is just what worked for someone else. You have to figure out what works for you.”
